Commitment and Undertaking

By registering my child with PlaySmarter give my child permission to take part at PlaySmarter  hockey academy.

I understand and accept the following:

  • Payment  must be made be made on receipt of the PlaySmarter invoice
  • The players will respect Parel Vallei High School AstroTurf, associated facilities and adhere to the rules that have been set out by the school regarding the facility.
  • Players must listen and adhere to the coach’s instruction.
  • Players need their own Hockey Stick, mouth guards and shin pads.
  • Players should consider others on the field, particularly when it comes to safety of others
  • PlaySmarter Hockey Academy reserves the right to postpone/cancel the training session in the event of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances.

By checking the box on registration, I agree to give my child,  permission to take part in all the activities pertaining to the PlaySmarter Hockey Academy in terms of the commitment and undertaking. In doing this I acknowledge that my child takes part at his/her own risk. PlaySmarter Hockey Academy cannot be held liable for any injury or loss of including the loss off equipment sustained during the duration of the clinic.

PLAYSMARTER PRIVACY POLICY

General information
We, at PlaySmarter, a registered company in the republic of South Africa (collectively, “we” or “the “Company”), are committed to protect the privacy of our registered players, parents and guardians who have registered for our PlaySmarter hockey academy sessions. We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy carefully and use it to make informed decisions. By registering with PlaySmarter, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Your obligation
Without derogating any of the terms and conditions of our website’s privacy policy, Parents and guardians shall ensure that they and all players they have registered have been informed of, and have given their consent to, PlaySmarter’s use and process of any information, as detailed in this Privacy Policy, to the extent such consent is required by applicable law.

What information do we collect?
The information we collect when you register with PlaySmarter is individually identifiable information, namely information that identifies an individual or may with reasonable effort identify an individual (“Personal Information”), which includes the parent, guardian and player information. We may collect contact information (including Personal Information, cell phone numbers and email addresses from you when you register on our website; subscribe to our newsletter; register for an event, clinic or session; respond to a survey; or fill out a form.

How do we use the information we collect?
We use the Personal Information for legitimate business purposes only, such as:

  • To identify and authenticate players attending events, sessions and/or clinics;
  • To obtain feedback with regard to our hockey academy; and PlaySmarter events, sessions and/or clinics.
  • To improve marketing our hockey academy;
  • To send out  monthly invoicing and payment reminders;
  • To communicate information about our sessions, events, and/or clinics;
  • To maintain our records of attendance events, sessions and/or clinics;
  • To maintain our registration database;
  • To investigate violations and enforce our policies, and as required by law, regulation or other governmental authority, or to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process or respond to a governmental request.
  • We use the Personal Information only to the extent required and while maintaining your right to privacy.
 

With whom we share the information we collect?
We do not rent, sell or share your Personal Information with third parties except as described in this Privacy Policy. We may transfer or disclose Personal Information to other trusted third party service providers the purpose of: 

  •  storing Personal Information on our behalf (e.g., cloud computing service providers like hosting, e-mail providers);
  •  assisting us with our business operations and administration and improving it; 
  • performing research, technical diagnostics and analytics with regard to the software products and administrative tools we use.

All the personal information is for the sole use of PlaySmarter. Your data is in no way re-used or repurposed in any other way other than what was intended to perform the administrative functions of PlaySmarter and within the boundaries of the applicable privacy laws. We may disclose Personal Information, or any information you submitted via registration if we have a good faith belief that disclosure of such information is helpful or reasonably necessary to: 

  • comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request; 
  • enforce our policies (including this Privacy Policy), including investigations of potential violations thereof; 
  • investigate, detect, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities or other wrongdoing, suspected fraud or security issues; (iv) to establish or exercise our rights to defend against legal claims; 
  • prevent harm to the rights, property or safety of us, our players, yourself or any third party; or (vi) for the purpose of collaborating with law enforcement agencies or in case we find it necessary in order to enforce intellectual property or other legal rights.


How long do we retain the information we collect?
At any time, registered  parents, guardians and players may request to change, update, correct errors or delete Personal Information by emailing us at info@playsmarter.co.za.
Please note that unless you instruct us otherwise we retain the information we collect for as long as needed to provide our services and to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. We may rectify, replenish or remove incomplete or inaccurate information, at any time and at our own discretion.

How do we safeguard and transfer your information?
We are committed to making reasonable efforts, in accordance with best practices, to ensure the security, confidentially and integrity of the Personal Information. We take great care in implementing and maintaining the security of the Personal Information. We ensure market best practice security measures to ensure the safety of your Personal Information and prevent unauthorized use of any such information. Although we take steps to safeguard such information, we cannot be responsible for the acts of those who gain unauthorized access and we make no warranty, express, implied or otherwise, that we will prevent such access. 

What are your rights?
Parents, guardians or players may contact us at any time and request:

  • To access, delete, change or update any personal data relating to you (for example, if you believe that your Personal Information is incorrect, you may ask to have it corrected);
  • That we will cease any further use of your Personal Information or delete your information (for example, you may ask that we stop using or sharing your Personal Information with third parties).

Updates or amendments to the Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time, in our sole discretion, and the most current version will always be posted on the website (www.playsmarter.co.za).
